Fruit Picking on Long Island New York
Apples, Pumpkins, Strawberry picking on Long Island

The beautiful open expanses of land on Long Island have given way to commercialization and industrial development. Long Island still grows quite a bit of produce but most of the farms are located out east in Suffolk County, NY. A nice drive for some, but well worth the trip to taste some of the finest fruits and vegetables grown right here on Long Island New York.

Many of the farms allow you to pick your own fruit. Apple picking, pumpkin picking and strawberry picking have become popular things to do for kids and families on Long Island. For many Long Island families it has become an annual tradition. Some of the farms provide goodies, treats and entertainment for the kids in addition to their traditional offerings, especially during peak harvesting season. See our list of Pumpkin Picking Farms and SPOOKTACULAR Halloween Events for October related events.

The list below features agricultural resources and a list of fruit and vegetable farms and farmstands on Long Island. We have provided contact information as a courtesy. Please call the individual farms about their hours of operation, crops in season, activities for the kids and/or driving directions.
