Think of the unlimited possibilities of tetherable devices for the car. With internet in the car you could do just about anything. GPS would be so much better for starters. Think Google maps (always up to date) with traffic reports. Granted many GPS units have traffic updates hut to be honest, they suck. Judging for the few that i have used, they always show the traffic after its too late (when I'm sitting in it) and the updates aren't available everywhere (mainly city areas). But too often have i come home from my parents place upstate NY and have sat in traffic in the strangest places. Anyway there's also Google latitude (know the location of your friends and family while on the move). Audio and video streaming from your home computer or cloud server. I could go on and on. I believe we need more internet enabled devices for the car and it seems the easiest / cheapest way to do that is tethering to your smartphone. I imagine a fully functional PC right in the dash.
